The University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) recently completed a successful Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) course, hosted by the MSPQC, at the Inter-professional Simulation and Education Center.
Led by a dedicated team of volunteer Certified Nurse-Midwives and OB/GYN physicians, the course trained 15 new providers (11 nurses and 4 physicians). This interprofessional approach highlights the importance of collaboration in maternal care.
This training supports Mississippi’s broader goal of reducing preventable maternal morbidity and mortality. Early feedback indicates that the new providers already feel increased readiness and confidence in their clinical practice. The MSPQC’s was honored to make this vital education accessible.
